I consulted Dr Chinmaya Sahu for Cataract surgery of my wife (67 years old). We stay at a different place and the local Opthalmologyst had suggested to wait. However, as she was having terrible issues in night vision, we approached him for review. We got a prompt appointment on 23 Apr. Dr Sahu is from a family of Doctors and his father had successfully carried out Cataract surgery of my Father-in-law and Mother at old age and both had no issues on their eyes till their demise. Our choice was simple.

Dr Sahu evaluated and graded the spread of cataract to Gr 2-3 both eyes and advised consideration of Cataract Sx plus Pc IOL under LA. Considering her trauma and our stay at Mumbai being temporary, agreed to undertake surgery the next week.

He explained the complete procedure and availability of type of IOL. He recommended EDOF IOL for both eyes, considering her age and usage of eyes. We thought of surgery on eyes one after other. However he explained the benefit of surgery on both eyes close to one another. Date of operation of Right eye was 26 Apr and Left eye was 29 Apr. Team at Sahu Eye Hospital explained the requirement of medical tests required befre surgery and also modalities of application of medication for preparation of surgery.

On the day of surgery on 26 Apr, we were greeted by a team of no non-sense smiling professional team who smoothly carried out the preparation of the patient for surgery. My wife was very comfortable. She did not feel any discomfort during the surgery and did not realise the procedure was over. We spent about four hours at the hospital after which the condition was checked by Doctor and patient discharged. It was again reviewed on 28 Apr when the vision was also checked by Optometrist and advise for the preapration of the Left eye was given. The surgery of the Left eye on 29 Apr was as smooth as the Right eye. All precautions and medication was explained. We realised the efficacy of the advise of surgery on both eyes in close proximity as the precaution and application of drops was simultaneous. Major advices were Head bath after a month, eye-shield in night for a week, wearing protective eyes for a month and medication on time.

We went for review 28 May. By that time, my wife had adjusted to the implanted IOLs and was without restrictions. Her condition was checked by optometrist and also by Dr Sahu. It was clear that she would not use power lense for any vision other than reading. As a temporary measure, a reading glass of 1.0 on both eyes was prescribed.

Now four months have elapsed after the operation. She has no issues with her vision including reading small prints in news paper that she is managing with efforts. She is very comfortable with TV and cell phones in naked eye. Using a zero powered glass for protection when outside.

We were very happy with the professionalism of the entire team of Sahu eye hospital and also details to care and attention provided to each patient. We recommend to other to seek his advise without hesitation.

Dr Yogesh Bhadange  (my both eye cataract surgery done by him ) has recommended me Dr Chinmaya Sahu for retinal surgery. I was unable to see  from left eye . Dr Sahu has examined me on Monday, 17th February 2020 and explained that your left eye retina is detached, if you don't make retinal surgery you could lossed your eye. If you're not comfortable with me then you go to another Dr but you have to do the surgery without wasting your time. I took decisions that I will operate my Eye from Dr Sahu only. After my decision, he has operated my eye on Wednesday 19th February 2020. His hospital is equipped with best equipment. At the time surgery, he is simultaneously explaining me what he has doing. The atmosphere is very pleasant,  background music at very slow volume played by him. The staff at Sahu eye hospital is also very courteous and cooperative. At times of my eye operation electricity is gone, he has immediately arranged the generator and does the operation very smoothly. In pandemics situations , he has  examined me in regularly in last 6 months . Also he has done stains removal operation on 25th August 2020,  my previous vision has came and my specks number also not been changed. Dr Chinmaya Sahu  very kind hearted he has not taken any undue advantage of Corona Pandemics situations.

After taking an appointment from Dubai for the 6th of Jan 2023, I met Dr. Chinmaya Sahu personally, a very pleasant, energetic and friendly doctor, who explained to me the nuances of the surgery I was going to go through. Into our short discussion, and having informed him about my urgent travel back to Dubai and thence to Australia, he kindly agreed to the surgery on 7th Jan 2023 of the right eye, and later on 10th Jan 2023 of the left. And, can you believe, on the 12th January, 2023, when I went for a final checkup, I luckily happened to meet him, as he was about to go to another hospital, where he had an appointment and he told me that I was completely ok. In 5 days I could clearly see the world, far and near, without glasses. Thank you doctor, you are amazing, and not only you, even the other doctors and the support staff, to name a few - Dr. Madhvi, Komal, Shweta, Naina, Anita, etc. were very helpful and cooperative, even with the amount of patients they had to deal with.

This was my first visit with my mother ( Mrs. Nirmala Joshi) and we were really happy to visit this place and take treatment from Dr Chinmay and Dr. Madhvi respetively. Both the doctors are so polite, professional and explained the issue and solution so well. They took sufficient time to analyze the problem and prescribe the treatment. There was no hurry at all inspite of them being sooo busy throughout the day and dealing with sooo many patient in a day. They give so much of attention to individual patient and explain everything so nicely. The whole staff ( including reception team) is so professional and polite in their approach. They actually show so much care and respect for each and every person sitting there for treatment. The way they were handling elderly patients was just excellent. So much care and concern. I was feeling so happy seeing all this was also taking a learning from them as to how to keep so much patience and humbleness under any kind of pressure. Visiting sahu eye hospital is such a satisfactory experience every time. I heartly thank Dr Amulya Sahu, Dr Chinmay Sahu, Dr Madhvi and the whole team of Sahu hospital.
