Brush twice a day: Use toothbrush with a small head and soft bristles for better access to back teeth. Correct brushing technique is very important. Brushing before bed is the most important time to brush.
Flossing: Dental floss helps to remove plaque and food particles in places where a toothbrush cannot easily reach i.e. in between your teeth.
Limit soft drinks: Such drinks dissolve the minerals in tooth enamel causing cavities.
Limit Sugary Food: Bacteria in dental plaque changes sugar into acid. This acid dissolves the minerals in tooth enamel causing cavities or decay of teeth.
Fiber-rich vegetables & fruits: Foods with fiber helps to keep your teeth and gums clean naturally.
Use mouth-guard: Use mouth-guard when playing sports. Mouth-guards Protect your teeth from injury.
Baby Teeth Cleaning: Use clean gauze pad or a finger brush to gently clean teeth and tongue after every meals and at bedtime. Avoid feeding baby by bottle, instead use spoon or cup. Frequent and long-term exposure of a child's teeth to liquids containing sugar produces baby bottle tooth decay.
Visit your dentist : You should visit your dentist every six months for regular check up. Also visit your dentist if you have a dental or oral problem. If any tooth related problem diagnosed & treated early, it prevents further damage so prevents more financial loss.
