Having hormonal acne as an adult can be miserable. We all expect hormonal acne to stop happening once we reach our 20s, but this isn’t always the case. Believe me, I know. Listen, I can totally understand your pain. I have struggled with acne throughout my life till my early thirties.

I tried antibiotics, RetinolA, Salicylic Acid and Benzoyl Peroxide , every potion, lotion and I mean everything, thinking I could heal my skin from the outside and just fix the surface of the issue.Needless to say, they didn’t work. I was desperate to improve the way my skin looked, and the way I felt about myself.

If you’re suffering from acne OR SKIN ISSUES right now – I sympathise – and I have some great news.

Skin conditions and acne are very responsive to treatments, if you heal it from the inside-out, addressing the root cause of the problem. The problem with all of the treatments for acne that you’ve probably been offered, or tried already, is that they don’t solve the most common cause of an adult woman’s acne issues – her hormones. In fact, antibiotics and the birth control pill only worsen the hormonal imbalance that is triggering the hormonal acne.

A combination of two health problems underpins the development of hormonal acne – a damaged and depleted gut microbiome and a deficiency in key micronutrient for skin health. These lead to hormonal imbalance and the development of acne as a result. Once I figured out how to detox and support my hormones, my skin cleared up, and it’s been beautifully clear ever since.

What is the skin?

Our skin is the largest organ in our body. It is also our largest elimination pathway for toxins. In other words, the body will eliminate acid wastes, toxins, and chemicals out of the skin if necessary. The amazing design of the human body is to NOT use the skin unless absolutely necessary.

Let me explain...The human body is amazingly designed. We are designed to stay clean and healthy. Processed foods, chemicals and lack of exercise have caused our bodies to become sick and congested. We are provided with kidneys, the spleen, the colon, the liver and an entire network of lymphatic vessels to remove toxins and waste from the body in order to keep us healthy.

When the system gets backed up, and the main elimination pathways mentioned above are weak or congested, the body forces toxins out through the skin. It doesn’t want to, but it has to!

God ( or the higher power whatever you may want to call it) wants you to have clean, healthy blood. This is the job of the elimination organs and systems of the body, to keep the blood clean. If the toxic burden is high, toxins come through the skin.

People are upset and confused about their skin conditions. Doctors and dermatologists have no answers except manmade chemicals, creams, and salves that do nothing to heal the true issues going on inside of your body.

Are we listening? Or are we running only to manmade synthetic options?

The Emotional Side of Acne

The skin is extremely sensitive to our emotions due to its close connections to the nervous system. As an embryo, the skin develops from the neuroectoderm, which also forms into the brain and nerve tissue. In other words, your skin is your external nervous system. You may notice that your skin turns very pale when you feel fear. When you experience embarrassment or excitement, you may blush as a direct result of your emotional state. Similarly, acne and other skin diseases can occur or worsen when we are making attempts to define who we are in our relationships with other people. In fact, many dermatologists recognise that patients may need treatment for their skin and their minds and emotions simultaneously.

What is the answer?

  1. Clean up your nutrition. Eliminate processed foods, dairy, grains and too much meat. increase leafy green vegetables, increase raw fruit and veggies.
  2. Avoid coffee, soda, and other dehydrating beverages and up your water intake.
  3. Chemical Free Skin Care
  4. DETOXIFICATION under someone who really understands the principles of cleansing.Clean your colon, kidneys, lymphatic systems, and liver.
  5. Practice emotional healing.Your skin will be beautiful.

Your body is designed to be beautiful and your skin is quite simply a reflection of the internal health of your body. We spend millions trying to cosmetically make our skin look beautiful. Haven’t we heard our entire lives that true beauty comes from the inside? It is true and is also true for your hair, skin, and nails.

Wishing you a healthy glowing skin!
