Back pain is as common as cold. Everybody of us will suffer from back pain at some point in our life. 

Causes:

1) Bad Posture (standing/ sitting and sleeping)

2) Lack of Exercises

3) Obesity

4) Sitting / slouching all the time

Ways to prevent it:

1) Daily exercises: build it up gradually over few weeks to months and we should exercise daily

2) Postural training (correct standing, sitting and sleeping posture)

3) Loose weight

4) Brisk walking daily: built it up gradually from 15-20 min daily to an hour daily

People suffering from back pain:

1) Should avoid taking regular pain killers without guidance

2) Use of Hot and Cold packs and local ointments

3) Avoid forward bending/ lifting weights/ squatting/sitting low lying

4) Bed rest should be avoided and should only be done in cases of acute severe pain

5) Use of lumbar belts should also be avoided unless specifically advised by a doctor
