Exercises play an important role in treatment of lockjaw.If done correctly & regularly,they help treat as well as prevent repetitive lockjaw .
- Warm up the jaw muscles with small up & down & side to side movements of the jaw.Be sure not to grind your teeth.Open & close your mouth as much as possible without pain.
- Move your jaw as far as possible forward & then back.Make similar movements towards both sides & then relax.
- Repeat the same set of exercises against the resistance of your hand
Each exercise should be performed for at least 10 counts each day.
