Which cap is best after adv rct?
I have 4 dental amalgam as old as 17 years. Extraction of upper and lower wisdom teeth and have much bone loss around. One of my amalgam filled tooth is scheduled for adv rct. So I am looking for best dental cap for that. As i have toothache and gum swelling round the year so I really want the cap to be the best fitted. And yes I have ultra sensitive teeth. Mostly in my lower jaw. And have gaps between teeth.

After each RCT it is always recommended to go for all ceramic or Zirconia crowns as they are esthetic and long lasting also are gum biofriendly,  so they can maintain the function and beauty of tooth for more n more years to come... Second point is doctors handskills and the dental laboratory where crown are made play crucial tole on success of treatment. If you choose any metal based crown as metal or PFM ( half metal half ceramic ) they come with their own compromises of cost and quality respectively... Want good crown? Choose - Good Clinic - Good doctor - Good lab - Good Justified  time - Bad budget ( costly) - Good results.

Hi Looking at the opg and after reading your question (and details supplied) there are a few observations 1 go for rct only if recommended by the dentist after examination. If a new filling can help you can explore that as well 2 amalgam filling last a very long time (if done and maintained properly) so old filling is not an automatic reason for rct 3 zirconia or pfm/DMLS Crowns can both work In your case. Final decision is based on size and site of tooth and also financial factors 4 lastly, your comorbidities are alarming at this age. Please get a thorough medical check done including diet analysis. Your food habits maybe directly responsible for poor oral health. You may contact for further information
Next Steps
Go for individual rct if required, followed by crown
Health Tips
Improve your diet, get more exercise

Hello. After seeing your opg i can make out that you need certain root canal treatments followed by crown placement. For the crowns you can go ahead with any of the crown be it metal ceramic or all ceramic. As both the crowns are good enough and serve there purpose well. Its just two things need to be considered the economics and the esthetics. Your oral health is worsening as you are pre diabetic. Diabetes serves as a silent death for the body. Sensitivity can be due to recession of the gums which can be again due to diabetes. For the gaps in your teeth there are various treatment plans starting from ultraconservative direct veneering, more esthetically looking indirect veneers and thn later crowns if req. for a 2 nd opinion if you want we are available over a video call.
Next Steps
Think about the economy and esthetics go for the crowns
Health Tips
Stay safe and healthy. Keep smiling always.

Hello Firstly make sure that when the amalgam filling is removed before RcT it's done with proper sterilization protocol as amalgam fillings contain mercury which can be toxic for your body if not removed properly. Secondly post root canal best cap is always an all ceramic cap as it has better strength and stability but that can we only suggested after proper examination of bite and space in your mouth.
Next Steps
consult a good endodontist for this
Health Tips
be careful about removal of amalgam filling
