The strength and durability of dental fillings can vary depending on the type of filling material used, the size of the filling, and how well you take care of your oral health. Here are some common types of dental fillings and their general characteristics: Composite Fillings: Composite fillings are made of a tooth-colored resin material that bonds to the tooth. They are commonly used for front teeth because they blend in with the natural tooth color, providing a more aesthetically pleasing result. Composite fillings are durable and can last several years with proper care. However, they may be more prone to chipping or staining compared to other materials. Porcelain Fillings (Inlays/Onlays): Porcelain fillings are custom-made restorations that are created in a dental lab and then bonded to the tooth. They are strong, long-lasting, and resistant to staining. Porcelain fillings are a more conservative option compared to dental crowns and can provide excellent durability with proper maintenance. Amalgam Fillings: Amalgam fillings, also known as silver fillings, are made from a combination of metals. They are strong and have been used for many years in dentistry. While they are durable, some people may prefer tooth-colored fillings for aesthetic reasons. The longevity of dental fillings depends on various factors: Oral Hygiene: Maintaining good oral hygiene by brushing, flossing, and regular dental check-ups can help prolong the life of fillings. Bite Forces: Avoiding habits like grinding or clenching teeth and not using teeth as tools can prevent excessive stress on the fillings. Eating Habits: Limiting the consumption of hard or sticky foods can prevent damage to fillings. Regular Dental Check-ups: Regular dental visits allow your dentist to monitor the condition of fillings and address any issues early on. In general, dental fillings can last anywhere from 5 to 15 years or more. However, individual experiences can vary. If you experience any issues with your fillings or notice signs of wear or damage, it's important to contact your dentist promptly for evaluation and possible replacement or repair. Remember to follow your dentist's aftercare instructions and maintain good oral hygiene to ensure the longevity and effectiveness of your dental fillings.

Lot many factors decide how much life they will have including maintenance by you. Also, what kind of filling, how big is the filling, area of tooth involved etc. will determine the same. Apart from this dentist's skill is a determinant factor. So, your question can be better answered by your dentist.. :) Usually, if its a direct composite filling (most commonly done for front teeth) done under proper isolation and technique with good branded material and good homecare will easily have a life of approximately 5-7 years

Hi, Front teeth fillings usually have much of  esthetic role than biting. Although it can be used comfortably for having day to day food. Just make sure you don't bite too much on hard substances as there are chances that it might get fractured. Usually they can sustain for a duration of 5 to 10 years if maintained properly. The only problem being it can get discolored at times
Next Steps
Stay calm and maintain them properly and enjoy the new smile you have got!😁

Hello. It depends on how you're gonna maintain it. As it's in front you need to be very careful while biting as it might fracture. Break the food into small pieces and have them instead of biting directly.
Next Steps
If the filling comes off go  for ceramic veneers.
Health Tips
*Advised to refrain from biting anything hard directly from front tooth *Advised to refrain from having anything  frequently which can stain the restoration (Tea, coffee, drinks)

Hi front tooth fillings are aesthetic fillings. These fillings last a good 5 to 10 years if maintained properly. Composite restorations usually get discolored hence the first 24 hrs are crucial. The dentist must have advised you not to consume any coloured food particles or beverages for a day. Over the years when discoloration happens the filling can be replaced.
Next Steps
Kindly do not bite anything hard with the front teeth as it may lead to fracture or breakage of the filling.

There are various factors. But the key thing is how much your was decayed/broken. Fillings are strong (but better not to use filled tooth for applying pressure).
