Stomach Pain
Hello. I would like to consult you regarding an upset stomach. Last night, I had a veg-loaded pizza and a coconut shake. A few hours later, I experienced severe stomach pain followed by a bowel movement. I am still feeling a slight pain in my stomach now. I took one Sporolac tablet last night. Could you please advise me on what I should do next and if I need any further medication

Upper abdominal pain after food may be due to acidity/gastritis, indigestion or gallbladder causes, but examination is needed if it continues. For now take light meals, avoid spicy/oily food, alcohol and unnecessary painkillers, and maintain hydration; do not repeatedly self-medicate with laxatives. Urgent assessment is needed for severe or increasing pain, repeated vomiting, fever, black stools, jaundice, chest discomfort or pain moving to the back. Please book an appointment with a physician/gastroenterologist if pain persists or recurs for a focused examination and appropriate tests.

Most likely indigestion/food intolerance after a heavy meal. Since pain is now mild and bowel movement occurred, supportive treatment is reasonable. Prescription: • Tab. Pantoprazole 40 mg – 1 OD before breakfast × 5 days • ORS – frequent sips • No antibiotics needed at present.
Next Steps
Light meals, good hydration; avoid oily/spicy food for 2–3 days
Health Tips
Advice: If severe/worsening abdominal pain, repeated vomiting, blood/black stool or fever develops, consult urgently.

Most likely indigestion/gastritis or food intolerance if symptoms are mild and improving. Rx: ORS/fluids and light meals. Tab Omeprazole 20mg once daily before breakfast × 5 days if there is acidity/burning. Avoid oily/spicy food, alcohol and excess caffeine for a few days. Antibiotics are not required based on the information given. Seek medical attention if severe/persistent pain, repeated vomiting, fever, blood/black stools or abdominal distension occurs. You may consult me on Practo if symptoms persist or recur.

yes. you would need further medication. you have taken probiotic sporolac which actually increases your good bacteria. but it wont help you with gastric erosions or with stomach pain. medicine is not like one size or medicine fits all. it varies from person to person.
Next Steps
feel free to consult me on practo for further evaluation and personalized management

First and foremost is adequate hydration including 1 glass of ORS twice a day I would not like to advise you directly with antibiotics As some infections resolve on their own If you had fever also, then I would have suggested antibiotics Eat light meals more of liquid and ONLY homemade food for a week And 10-15 min walk after every meal is a must In case of severe pain, you can take spasrid tablets for Max 2 times a day But take only in case of severe pain If symptoms persists after 3 days Kindly connect with me for consultation
