Dear if ur doc advice 1 wk physio. It doesn’t mean u need only 1 wk physio. Before starting a physio rx ur physiotherapist will asses you and decide how many days treatment will continue. Bcoz in these kind of problem basically we decide 2 goal that is primary ( pain relieving) and secondary ( muscle rehabilitation or biomechanical correction) . So it’s totally decided by physio. Surgeon cant decide how many days u ll continue or discontinue.

Hello It's better to continue sessions. As you said your pain is gone but as you start the exercises the pain may aggravate for some days so as you continue the sessions with the electro therapy and exercise therapy it will be better. Then after that your physio will inform you to continue the exercises and he will advise the exercises which you have to do at home.
Health Tips
Avoid forward bending. Avoid lifting weights.

It’s not only about the advised treatment because you need to increase the strength of the stabilizing muscles of your back in order to make them able to help you work properly otherwise as soon as you would be straining again it might trouble you again. For that, you should perform a proper graded muscle strengthening routine for your back.

Hello physiotherapy consists of electrotherapy and exercise therapy if your pain is reduced by electrotherapy you need to continue with exercise therapy under the supervision which will start with basic exercises and then progress to advanced exercises so that the muscles get toned up and it's not fixed like 1wk or 10 days treatment because no body is simlier and every body has its own way of recovery so let the therapist decide so that u get proper guidance and recovery...
Next Steps
Proper follow up with the therapist and follow the instructions given by them
Health Tips
Don't over exercise and emphasise on the key points of the exercise..

Everybody is different and takes it own time to heal. We cannot promise that if 10 sessions helped one patient so others also required same. As per your doctor recommended 1week Physiotherapy but Physiotherapist know how many sessions you will required. Pain is acute stage if you don't have pain then it is not indicated that you are healed from inside. You need to complete the session to get better results. Or else problem can reverse back.

Disc rehabilitation could take 4 to 6 weeks. Abroad this is done over 4 weeks and frequency is 2 per week after initial week. So a total of 8 to 10 sessions is usually the norm. However in some cases patients need even upto 15 sessions. Tissue healing does not take place in a week. So if you are comfortable with exercises and able to manage pain you dont need the interferential machine, but you might need more mobilisation and exercise progression. Exercise progression is important as it prevents future instances of pain. Treatment after the initial stage is not as frequent. Sessions could be even 2 per week.... It is hard to give you exact recommendations, but this is the general way.
