Suggestions regarding slip disc.
I have slip (Herniated) disc from 1.5 years due to heavy lifting in gym. I am doing physiotherapy and i dont have pain now but i cant bend forward and do any activity with comfort. some doctors told me to avoid forward bending exercise as it will push the disc backward and disturb the nerve. but the phsiotherapist whom which i went prescribed me forward bending exercise (touching the toe). so which exercise should i follow ? is slip disc permanant? whether the disc will go back by extension exercises or it will remain as it is? is phsiotherapy sufficient to heal slip disc?how much time it will take to decompress my spine?

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times.

I will recommend you to avoid forward bending exercises instead focus on back strengthening exercises which will be effective for you in long run.It is curable permanently except in case of massive disc prolapse.so with proper exercises and precautions it can be cured completely
