Central disc protrusion
Two weeks ago, my low back was damaged by heavy weight lifting. and after MRI, the result is as follow: 1) large size posterior central disc protrusion with moderate thecal sac compression is seen at L5-S1 level. 2) posterior disc bulging is also seen at L4-L5 level. is the above problems curable without surgery?

Mri is report is not final . Need to take bed rest 1st and take medication as prescribed by orthopaedic surgeons. After getting some relief then start physiotherapy treatment and exercises . After all efforts needs to decide about surgery .

complete bed rest. use lumbosacral belt. avoid forward bending and lifting weights.

If ur bowl and ballader movement iz intact it can be manageable some how .....but in ur advance year it give u lots of trouble so better to get the surgery done

Yes , you can go for basic and advanced core strengthening exercises programme designed by physiotherapist. I am giving these programmes to all such patients and within one month , they are recovered . Even spine surgeons also going and refering for these programmes for one month before surgery.
