Hi,
My teeth have shifted from left jaw to the right side from where I had a 2nd molar extracted around 13 years back. This has caused my jaw line to be assymetrical. Wanted to know if this can be corrected and what are the possible solutions.

It's possible to correct teeth shifting and jaw asymmetry caused by missing teeth or other factors through orthodontic treatments and possibly other dental procedures. Here are some potential solutions:
Orthodontic Treatment: Depending on the severity of the shifting, orthodontic treatment like braces or clear aligners can be used to gradually move the teeth back to their proper positions. This can help improve the alignment of your teeth and restore balance to your jaw.
Dental Implants: If you're missing a tooth, like the second molar that was extracted, a dental implant may be recommended. A dental implant is a prosthetic tooth root that is surgically placed into the jawbone and can support a replacement tooth. This can help prevent further shifting of adjacent teeth.
Dental Bridges: In some cases, a dental bridge can be used to replace a missing tooth. A bridge is a fixed dental restoration that spans the gap created by a missing tooth and is anchored to adjacent teeth.
Veneers or Crowns: If the shifting is minor and the teeth are not significantly misaligned, dental veneers or crowns may be used to restore the appearance of the teeth and create a more balanced smile.
Consultation with a Dentist or Orthodontist: The first step is to consult with a dentist or orthodontist who can assess your specific situation and recommend the most suitable treatment plan. They will take into consideration factors like the extent of shifting, your overall oral health, and your aesthetic goals.
Orthognathic Surgery: In cases of more severe jaw asymmetry, orthognathic surgery (corrective jaw surgery) may be considered. This surgery can address significant skeletal and dental issues, improving both function and appearance.
It's important to address teeth shifting and jaw asymmetry, as these issues can impact your oral health, bite, and overall facial aesthetics. A professional evaluation will help determine the best course of action for your individual situation.

Hello,
You have a cavity in one of your lower teeth. You need to get it appropriately treated and the dental asymmetry can be treated by the use of braces or aligners( orthodontic treatment).
