Hello, Elastics given during orthodontic treatment should be replaced everyday with the new ones. Since, force decay occurs and the amount of force required for tooth movement would not be sufficient if same old elastic is used.
So once you have brushed your teeth in the morning use a new elastic and after every meal you can use the same elastic throughout the day. Replace it with the new one in the next morning.
Use of elastic may vary depending upon the type of tooth movement or correction needed, approximately for 6-8months.

Rubber bands need to be changed once a day is 24 hours . The duration of the elastics or rubber bands will depend on the condition that they were given for . for example if they were given for a single tooth correction is will be short till the time the tooth doesn’t come into the required position . If it was given for a jaw correction then the duration is longer at least 3 months or so .
Next Steps
Consult your orthodontist .
