- The vitamin D level of 5 units is very low. Normally it should be above 20 ng/ml. Do not skip the doses which your doctor has given. - Along with this, you need to follow these tips to improve your vitamin D levels and to maintain them: 1.Sunlight: Go out in the morning sunlight, majorly before 10 am without any sunscreen, for about 30 minutes, 4–5 times a week. Let your arms and legs be exposed to vitamin D to absorb it naturally. 2.Include these foods in your meals: -Fortified milk or soy milk -Breakfast cereals fortified with vitamin D -Mushrooms  -Egg yolks -Fatty fish Low vitamin D can cause fatigue, joint pain, low energy levels and low mood. Once your course of medication is over, your doctor might shift you to a maintenance dose (like once a month). You need to get your levels checked again after 3 months.

Hi Vitamin D deficiency is very prevalent in India. As per my knowledge doctors prescribe 600 IU supplement. Handling vitamin D deficiency is very critical only vitamin D supplement might not suffice. If you need more information pls connect through Practo.

Your Vitamin D level is very low (only 5 ng/mL), which usually requires a longer course of high-dose supplementation. If the doctor has given only 2 tablets for 2 weeks, it's possible they plan to reassess or combine it with other interventions. It would be a good idea to confirm with your doctor whether a longer course is planned after 2 weeks or if there’s another reason for the short duration." Would you like me to draft a follow-up message

Hello, Try to do a morning walk daily in the morning sunlight for at least 20-30 minutes daily. Include fish, egg yolks, and plant based milks (soy, almond) in your diet. Take your medicines as prescribed by your physician.

Please take the tablets. That’s the only way to increase it sooner. After that make sure you get enough sunlight (at least 10-15 mins) a day. Include eggs and sea food if you eat them
