You may need to continue on suppliments for vitamin d and vitamin b12, for dose and duration please connect directly. Your diabetes will also be taken care
● Regarding your vitamin D, a level of 10.45 ng/mL indicates a significant deficiency. Since your levels dropped again after stopping supplements, you may require a longer maintenance dose rather than stopping supplementation completely. Please consult your physician regarding an appropriate maintenance vitamin D regimen based on your current reports.
● Vitamin B12 deficiency is also quite common, especially in people with diabetes or those who consume limited animal-based foods. If your B12 is low, supplementation (oral or injections depending on the severity) is often necessary, as diet alone may not be sufficient to correct a deficiency.
● Along with supplementation, include vitamin D-rich foods such as fatty fish, egg yolks, fortified milk and dairy products, and mushrooms exposed to sunlight. Aim for 15–30 minutes of sunlight exposure (arms and face uncovered) on most days if possible. For vitamin B12, include milk, curd, paneer, eggs, fish, chicken, or lean meat if you consume them.
Next Steps
A personalized nutrition plan along with appropriate supplementation and periodic blood test monitoring every 3–6 months can help maintain healthy vitamin D and B12 levels in the long term.
Health Tips
I would also recommend discussing further evaluation with your doctor. Tests such as serum vitamin B12, calcium, phosphorus, parathyroid hormone (PTH), magnesium, and, if clinically indicated, tests for malabsorption (such as celiac disease) may be considered, especially if deficiencies keep recurring despite adequate supplementation.
