Pregnancy issues ( Incompetent cervix)
Brief History ~ Got diagnosed with incompetent cervix after first pregnancy loss at 24 week gestational age in May 2022. As just 2-3 days before loss had thick white discharge with red tint and no pain. I was dilated to 8 cm on day of delivery painlessly though then felt contractions while passing the baby. So doctor diagnosed this case of Incompetent cervix. Also placenta biopsy report showed acute chorio infection. My concern is whether is it truly a case of incompetent cervix or should I get evaluated for other tests like for autoimmune disorders ( lupus etc), or MRI to check for shape of uterus. Also doctor advised for cervical cerclage vaginally in next pregnancy.. So should I go for vaginal cerclage or should go for pre pregnancy transabdominal cerclage after ruling out all other problems and if it is really an incompetent cervix case.

If it is only one abortion that u hv had No point going fr a transabdominal circalage Preconceptionally Ultrasound should be done at 12 weeks in the next pregnancy to look fr length of cervix n diameter of internal os Stitch should be applied if internal os is open or length of cervix is less than 2.5 The reason in ur case of previous abortion was Infection as documented by placental biopsy
