Possible subclinical hypothyroidism
Hello doctors. I got my blood tests done in August, and I have been concerned about my thyroid levels, do I have subclinical hypothyroidism, or am I okay? I have been gaining weight despite my diet being the same, I have been feeling fatigued too, although I think my low Vitamin D levels are a culprit in that too, but Im mostly concerned about my thyroid levels. I also have PCOD. Please advise.

Hello I’ve gone through your concern carefully. From what you’ve described — weight gain, fatigue, and your history of PCOD — it’s possible that your thyroid levels are slightly on the borderline, which we call subclinical hypothyroidism. This means your thyroid gland is under a bit of stress but not yet in full hypothyroidism. In such cases, the decision to start treatment depends on multiple factors — your TSH level, T3/T4 values, anti-TPO antibodies, and your clinical symptoms (which seem significant in your case). Since you also have PCOD, both conditions can influence each other — leading to slower metabolism, fatigue, and weight fluctuations. Managing one often helps the other. Alongside thyroid evaluation, we should also review your vitamin D, insulin resistance, and lifestyle plan to get long-term control. It would be best if I personally reviewed your blood report in detail and customized your management plan (including whether or not you need thyroxine therapy yet). You can message me directly on WhatsApp at nine three two six zero two zero five three six for a private review and complete plan. We can go step-by-step and make sure your thyroid, PCOD, and energy levels are all balanced naturally and effectively.

The report is Normal. It is not subclinical hypothyroidism. Have you previously done any thyroid test? Also why was this test done? Need to know detailed symptoms currently. Hopefully you must be taking Vit D Supplement already. Hope this helps.

Hello Kaustubhi, your thyroid levels are within normal range. As far as your symptoms are concerned, if you haven't tested your Serum Vit D levels, you can get it done along with other blood profiles to rule out other problems that usually co exist in PCOD. For further management, feel free to consult.
