Popping joints can occur for any number of reasons, including normal fluid and gas in your joints, rubbing of bone or cartilage in your joints against each other, and movements of your tendons and ligaments. While this rarely causes pain, it can be unsettling, especially if it occurs frequently or is significant. In general, joint popping does not cause arthritis, is not a sign of a serious medical illness, and is not dangerous.1 In rare cases, however, you may need to see your doctor about it. Popping can occur in any joint of the body. Some of the common ways this occurs include flexing or rotating your ankle, opening and closing your hand, or moving your neck.
Next Steps
consult ortho doctor or physiotherapist if pain occurs
Health Tips
do suggested exercise or modalities by physiotherapists

Your joints are coated in lubricant called synovial fluid. This fluid contains oxygen and nitrogen, among other elements. Occasionally, the gases from this lubricant can build up and need to be released, causing a crack in your knees. But the causes of crepitus aren’t always so straightforward. In fact, researchers are still working to learn more about what causes these popping and cracking sounds in our joints. Bones that break and don’t heal correctly and tendons that catch on the ridges of your bones and muscles as you move are other causes of knee cracking. Over time, gas can build up in the areas surrounding the joint, forming tiny bubbles in the synovial fluid. When you bend your knee, some of the bubbles burst. This is normal and happens to everyone from time to time. It doesn’t cause pain. If you are facing any issues like swelling, redness, tenderness or pain after walk, let me know for further treatment depending on the condition.
