I took Zentel (albendazole) for suspected pinworm infection. My anal itching/crawling sensation disappeared after the first dose but returned on the sixth day and has persisted. Can i take 2nd dose after 7 days?
A second dose of albendazole is given 2 weeks after the first for pinworm, but tching can have other causes please book a consultation for confirmation and appropriate treatment.

After 4 weeks you can take another dose and then every 6 months.deworm all family members.cut nails.proper hygiene after using toilet, wash clothes in boiling water, wash fruits and vegetables well, avoid hotel food
Itching coming back on the sixth day after albendazole often means reinfection, not treatment failure. Pinworm eggs survive on hands, nails, underwear and bedding for days, so reinfecting yourself is very common even after the medicine works the first time.
Next Steps
Please ask your doctor or pharmacist whether and when a second dose makes sense for you, since the right spacing depends on the product. Alongside any repeat dose, wash bedding and underwear in hot water daily, trim nails short, and wash hands well after using the toilet.
Health Tips
See a doctor if the itching is severe, there is bleeding, or it does not settle even after hygiene steps and a doctor-advised repeat dose.
