personality disorders like paranoid personality disorder are treated through psychotherapy and medications may be given for brief periods. however caution needs to be exercised while making a diagnosis of paranoid personality disorder, as such terms are loosely and vaguely used in daily conversation and linguistics. however a psychiatrist will make confirmed diagnosis based on history, interview and psychological tests. and a complete cure is less likely and prognosis is guarded if the diagnosis has been made by an experienced psychiatrists.
