A painful swelling or mass beside the gum of your last molar could be due to several possible causes. Since you mentioned that the sharp edge of your tooth is hurting it, it's important to have this issue evaluated by a dentist to determine the exact cause and provide appropriate treatment. Here are the steps you should consider: Consult a Dentist: Schedule an appointment with a dentist as soon as possible. They will examine the swollen area, the adjacent tooth, and your oral tissues to diagnose the issue accurately. Clinical Examination: During the examination, the dentist will check for signs of infection, inflammation, or any other abnormalities. They will also examine the adjacent tooth for any sharp edges or irregularities. X-ray or Imaging: Depending on the findings, your dentist might recommend an X-ray or imaging to get a clearer view of the affected area and to rule out any underlying issues. Diagnosis: Once the dentist has determined the cause of the swelling, they will provide you with a diagnosis. It could be due to an infection, gum abscess, irritation from a sharp tooth edge, or another dental issue. Treatment Options: The treatment will depend on the underlying cause. It could include: Antibiotics: If there's an infection, your dentist might prescribe antibiotics. Dental Treatment: If a sharp tooth edge is causing the issue, the dentist may smooth or adjust the tooth to eliminate the source of irritation. Drainage: In the case of a gum abscess, drainage might be necessary. Pain Relief: Your dentist might recommend over-the-counter pain relievers to manage the pain and discomfort. Follow Professional Advice: Follow the treatment plan recommended by your dentist. If further dental procedures are needed, your dentist will explain the steps and potential outcomes. Oral Hygiene: Maintain good oral hygiene by brushing and flossing regularly to prevent further complications. It's important not to delay seeking professional dental care, especially if you're experiencing pain, difficulty in chewing, or talking. Your dentist will be able to provide you with the necessary treatment to address the issue and alleviate your discomfort.

It is due to the eruption of your 3rd molar. This condition is known as Pericoronitis. This might cause irritation to gums and to the tooth above it.
Next Steps
Get a thorough examination done by a dentist. It will help the dentist to rule out the exact cause of your pain

It is due to wisdom tooth. Your wisdom tooth is trying to come out but your jaws don’t have enough space and so it is putting pressure on near teeth also because of less space cheek bite is happening. Sharp tooth can be corrected by visiting nearby dentist.

Hi, From the pictures shared, it looks like you have an impacted tooth as well as cheek biting. I suggest you get an X-ray OPG taken to know the position of the wisdom tooth.
