Hai , your mom has a pain in upper back but how she got it can u tell me mostly this kind of problem may be due to irregular posture in sleeping or while working for household chores we can’t tell her unless we go through her proper evaluation and u haven’t mentioned her age too . The pain in the left hand may be due to nerve root involvement also . At present gently hot water fermentation to the back where the pain is after applying a pain relieving gel is the only option kindly do it and correct sleeping posture n bed should be advised such as not using high sleeping pillow instead go for a soft one . Stay safe

She would be suffering from cervical pain with a radiating component more so often prevalent condition. Furthermore, the nerves in the spine gets compressed so that is causing the radiating pattern. Use proper stretching exercises and Deep cervical neck flexor strengthening.
Next Steps
You can consult us on the Practo app for the latest evidence based graded exercise program.
