You should take a MRI of your LS spine to rule out the cause for your pain..It may be Sciatica.. You should consult a physiotherapist or orthopaedist in person for complete assessment and treatment.

It could be due to a pinched or injured nerve at your lower back or groin. Could also be due to muscle injury around your hip. It has to be properly assessed for the cause and if there is any neurodeficit. The treatment shall be planned related to the cause of pain and if any complication is there ( shall include medications for pain management, physiotherapy, lifestyle modifications and other techniques for pain management, may require injection procedures if not controlled by medications and therapy )
Next Steps
Please visit any Physical Medicine and Rehab Physician or Pain Management Physician for a proper assessment and treatment

9 months is a long time for this excruciating pain, doesn't sound physiological. It is radiating to thigh seems like lower backache but not due to muscles either. There can be two conditions it can be increase either forward bending and backward bending, do notice it. As you mentioned walking and sleeping is difficult and radiating to thigh. First thing i'd suggest to you to take a complete rest, don't sit down on floor, don't bend forward and backward too much. Don't go for PT without being diagnosed first. Range of motion can be done but not advanced one.
Next Steps
Go visit to nearby doctor or consult on practo practitioner. First investigations need to get done.
Health Tips
Don't do vigorous activities.

This requires a complete assessment. Once certain diagnosis is reached and any complication of hip joint or spine is ruled it can be treated with exercise prescribed by PT.

If during assessment you're told to go for any further investigative procedures better to get it done and clear all doubts.
