It can happen because of sleeping position or any muscle strain or heavy weight lift and depends on many other factors.
Next Steps
Take painkillers like zerodol two times a day after food for 3-5 days. Also add tab pantoprazole 20 mg two times a day before food to prevent acidity due to painkillers. Consult an orthopedic if pain doesn’t resolve after 3-5 days.
Health Tips
Take rest, limit heavy lifting for 1-2 weeks.

Hello, most neck pain of 3 days comes from muscle strain, poor posture or a bad sleeping position, and it usually settles with the right care. I would not start this combination on your own. It contains an anti-inflammatory (aceclofenac) that can irritate the stomach and affect the kidneys, and a muscle relaxant (thiocolchicoside) that should not be used if you are pregnant or could be, and is meant only for short courses.
Next Steps
Safer steps for now: a hot compress for 15 minutes a few times a day, gentle neck stretches, a low pillow, and less phone or laptop time with your head bent. Plain paracetamol at the label dose is usually the gentler first option. See a doctor soon if you have numbness, tingling or weakness in the arms, pain spreading down the arm, fever with neck stiffness, severe headache, or the pain follows an injury. I can review your history and prescribe suitably through a teleconsultation on Practo. – Dr Amandeep Aggarwal, Family Physician, Sangrur

I advise you not to take Zerodol-TH 4 on your own. It is a strong prescription combination containing aceclofenac and thiocolchicoside, which carries risks of severe stomach irritation, kidney stress, and contraindications in potential pregnancy—especially dangerous when stacked on top of the painkillers you have already taken. Your symptoms point toward an acute cervical myofascial strain, likely from poor posture or sleeping position. For now, apply a warm compress for 15 minutes three times daily, do gentle active neck stretches, switch to a low pillow, and take plain paracetamol (such as 650 mg after food) if pain persists. If you develop radiating numbness, tingling, or arm weakness, consult a clinic immediately for an in-person neurological examination. — Dr. Arijit Sinha

Neck pain that's lasted three days without easing on painkillers or spray usually comes from a muscle strain or spasm, often from posture, sleep position or sudden movement, rather than anything more serious at this stage.
Next Steps
Try warm compresses, gentle neck stretches and avoiding long phone or laptop postures for a few days. Since you're already using a pain reliever, please check with a physician or pharmacist before continuing it, so the choice and duration are right for you.
Health Tips
See a doctor soon if the pain spreads down your arm with numbness or weakness, or if you develop fever.
