Hi, A low platelet count without any other symptoms is something to be evaluated. Just the two reports won't give us or any doctor any good information Kindly do the following and consult on practo 1. Your CBC with peripheral smear - if you have done it, have the report when you consult 2. Platelet count- manual/in citrate. This can help us understand if the counts are falsely low in the CBC 3. Have some time on your hands when you consult. My consults are detailed and I aim to get a lot of information from you regarding your health to help reach a diagnosis. Thank you

Just borderline low. Can be corrected. Take more of fresh vegetables like spinach, carrots, broccoli, kale, pumpkin,  beetroot, fruits like papaya, pomegranate, that enhance platelet count. Repeat platelet count after a month.

Having gallbladder stones and facing surgery can already be stressful—finding a low platelet count adds to the worry. Since your February count was normal (2.1 lakhs) but is now borderline low (1.28 lakhs), this trend needs monitoring. Being vegetarian with known Vitamin D and B12 deficiencies can sometimes impact marrow function and immunity. But don't panic—mildly low platelets are often non-worrisome if stable and without symptoms like bleeding. Before surgery, your doctor may just want to ensure safety. I regularly guide such cases—feel free to connect for a detailed look into your blood trends and vitamin balance before your operation.
