Fathers platelet count
My father did his health checkup recently. Platelet count was 130000 Doctor prescribed Hetrazan tablet for 50 days and asked to test again after 15 days, to see if platelet count is increasing. Wanted to take a second opinion. Is it recommended to take it.

Please share details,  why was this test done? Platelets can be naturally low with advancing age or intense physical exercise. Some have naturally low platelets due to genetic make up Repeat cbp and connect online with results.

Hetrazan is not prescribed for low platelet count. It appears that your father has a high eosinophil count, which is commonly seen in cases of allergic reactions or parasitic infections. The doctor has likely prescribed Hetrazan to treat one of these underlying causes. To properly assess his platelet count, more information is needed—such as why these tests were ordered, what symptoms he has been experiencing, and whether a peripheral smear has been done.
