Licked by a stray dog
A few days back a stray dog licked my hand, he seemed to be friendly and did not look aggressive.  I washed my hand with soap after reaching home,I have not seen that dog after that but was wondering if this can be a potential rabies exposure and should I need rabies vaccination ?

Category 1. It doesn’t require any vaccine as such. Only washing the area clean with water and soap is necessary. But if you come in regular contact with dogs, you must get a pre exposure prophylaxis.
Next Steps
Visit a physician for the same.

Hello sir, licking on intact skin without a wound is generally not considered a rabies exposure. Since you washed with soap and there was no bite or bleeding, rabies vaccination is usually not required. For peace of mind, you can still consult a doctor or visit an anti-rabies clinic for confirmation. I hope it helps you. If more questions are in your mind, you can reach me for a free detailed consultation on WhatsApp at nine one one nine two five five six nine nine.
