Which doctor do I consult if a dog bites me? If we're not sure if the dog is immunized or not, can we get the dog checked before getting ourselves vaccinated for rabies?

Dog bite is a very common issue and it should be managed early and coorectly. You should consult your nearest general physician. Few basic tips are Immediately wash out the wound with soap and water and visit doctor. Doctor may classify the wound into grade 1,2 or 3 based on that Rabies vaccine or immunoglobulin could be given। Regarding the animal, if possible should be observed for nexte 10 days to see whether it's alive or not and it behaving normally or not. Just to see if it's rabid animal or not.

You have to get yourself immunised and probably need rabies immunoglobulin depending on the category of bite.
