First, one question for you; What is nerve pain and how do you know that you have nerve pain? A patient should describe his symptoms in simple language. Surely nerve pain has a specific definition and this term should not be used loosely.

Hello, I am Dr. Romain Rajan, General Physician. I understand your concern. Leg pain and nerve-type pain can occur due to different reasons. Possible causes: Nerve compression/irritation – such as sciatica, slipped disc, or spinal issues. Peripheral neuropathy – seen in diabetes, vitamin B12 deficiency, thyroid problems, excess alcohol use, or certain medications. Poor blood circulation – varicose veins or peripheral artery disease. Musculoskeletal causes – muscle strain, arthritis, or overuse. Tests that may be helpful: Blood sugar (to rule out diabetes). Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D levels. Thyroid profile. CBC (to rule out anemia). If pain is persistent or severe → Nerve conduction study / MRI of spine to check for nerve compression. General advice: Maintain good posture, avoid prolonged sitting or standing. Gentle stretching and daily walking help improve circulation. Warm compress for muscle pain, cold compress for nerve pain. Eat a balanced diet rich in vitamins & minerals. Avoid smoking and excess alcohol. When to consult urgently: If pain is worsening. If associated with numbness, weakness, or difficulty walking. 📲 You can connect with me directly on Practo or reach me on WhatsApp at 85271646seven seven for a more personalized consultation. Best regards, Dr. Romain Rajan General Physician
