I would recommend 6 month interval is much better as more frequent cleaning can lead to sensitive teeth.

Cleaning should be done atleast every 6 months and if you have any bad breath or bleeding gums before that you should get cleaning done as soon as possible.Regular usage of mouthwash and brushing twice a day can prevent gum diseases .

Hi By the books it's 6 months . But in case you are maintaining your teeth well , as in brushing twice , regular flossing, timely dental check up , then you can even extend it to an year. 3 months is too short , usually required in people with smoking or tobacco chewing habit. Sensitivity after cleaning is for a temporary phase Regards

I would suggest you to get a opinion from your dentist if you require a scaling. If you have crowding or any other additional dental problems then 3 months is safe as scaling only removes plaque and calculus.

U should get a check up done initially weather u require teeth cleaning or no. 3 months isn't a safe time fr that atleast 6 months would be better.
Health Tips
Brushing twice daily , flossing and gargling would be enough , if u don't have these habits u require a dentist frequently. It's better to develop good brushing and flossing habits.
