Sir, you can get dental implants and cleaning even with diabetes but the key is good blood sugar control first. Dental implants are not contraindicated in diabetes. In patients with well controlled blood sugar, dental implant success rates are similar to people without diabetes. However, if your sugar is high (like an average : 190 mg/dL), healing can be slower and the risk of infection and implant complications increases.
Next Steps
1. Consult your physician to improve blood sugar control (aim for stable target levels before surgery - Fasting (before a meal): 80–130 mg/dL & 2 hours after a meal: < 180 mg/dL ) & An HbA1c (3-month average) ideally below 7% is often recommended before implant surgery to improve healing and reduce complications. You just need to go a little more and then you're good to go for implants.. 2. Get dental cleaning (scaling) first to reduce gum inflammation because this helps both your gums and any future implant success. 3. Once controlled, your dentist can plan implant placement safely.

Hello Diabetes is a major concern for dental implants. You need your RBS atleast lower than 160 for implant placement. But you should definitely get your cleaning done. Periodontitis and diabetes is a 2 way relation and you need to maintain both. Focus on diet, healthy habits and medicine for sugar. One it is controlled, you may go ahead with dental implants

Thank you for sharing your concern. Diabetes does not automatically disqualify you from dental implants or professional teeth cleaning, but sugar control is the key factor. With an average blood sugar around 190 mg/dl, it is advisable to first bring the sugar levels under better control before planning implants. Poorly controlled diabetes can delay healing and increase the risk of infection around implants. That said: • Teeth cleaning (scaling) can be done safely and is actually important to reduce gum infection and inflammation. • Dental implants are possible once blood sugar levels are reasonably controlled (preferably fasting
