Hey there!
I have many patients with same condition. What I have observed it takes upto 3_6 months. After bankart lesion surgery few movements are restricted to allow healing.
It varies from person to person. Proper rehabilitation with constant touch with surgeon is required for speedy recovery.
You can book online session with me for exercises guidance.

Recovery after Bankart (labrum) repair varies depending on tissue healing, shoulder stability and your rehabilitation progress. Most patients require around 4–6 months of structured physiotherapy, while return to sports may take 6–9 months. A phase-wise rehabilitation program is important for optimal recovery. Consult your physiotherapist for a personalized protocol based on your current stage.
After a Bankart (labral) repair, physiotherapy is usually required for 4 to 6 months, although complete recovery for sports or heavy overhead activities may take 6 to 9 months. The exact duration depends on the severity of the injury, surgical findings, healing response, and the patient's goals. Rehabilitation progresses in phases, starting with protection, followed by restoration of range of motion, strengthening, and finally return to sports or work-specific activities.
Next Steps
Follow your surgeon's rehabilitation protocol and begin physiotherapy as advised. Attend regular physiotherapy sessions, perform home exercises consistently, and avoid movements that stress the repaired shoulder until cleared by your surgeon or physiotherapist.
Health Tips
Do not rush recovery or return to sports too early, as this can increase the risk of re-injury or recurrent shoulder instability. A structured, supervised rehabilitation program is essential for achieving the best long-term outcome.
