Six months without a period needs a proper workup â diet alone rarely fixes long-standing hormonal imbalance. Underlying causes range from PCOS to thyroid dysfunction to high prolactin, and each is treated very differently, so the first step is finding out which one is at play.
Next Steps
Please book a gynaecologist consultation. The usual workup is a pelvic ultrasound plus a hormone panel â LH, FSH, AMH, prolactin, TSH, testosterone â and sometimes fasting insulin. Once the cause is clear, treatment is straightforward and effective.
Health Tips
Prolonged absent periods can thin the uterine lining and affect future fertility, so please don't delay the workup further even if you feel otherwise well.
You need investigations to find out the reason for absence of periods for 6 months
If your age as mentioned is 28 days this is abnormal and you read medication and treatment
