I sense a lot of fear here which makes you constantly worry about your health. It must be really frightening for you to go through this situation & also when it reminds you of your mama's death. The situation is worsening as you keep checking on yourself whether everything is alright or not. It gets very tiring and also affects work & personal life. Somehow you are trying different ways to cope but it's not working as the fear is not going away and I know that you want to stop worrying so much.
Next Steps
Taking therapy sessions will help you. I am from Bangalore, do reach out when you feel ready.
It seems to be IAD. It is a type of Anxiety disorder.
It needs to be treated asap otherwise it may get complicated.
It needs to be treated in a holistic approach for complete recovery.
It can be treated well with counseling sessions and homeopathic medicine effectively.
You need an expert psychologist who is a good homeopathic physician.

Hi,
I'm sorry to hear about your struggles with health anxiety, especially following the loss of your family member. It's understandable to feel heightened anxiety in such circumstances, and it's great that you're taking steps to address your health by quitting smoking and exercising. However, persistent anxiety can be overwhelming, especially as a Data Analyst where prolonged screen time can exacerbate stress. To help manage your health anxiety, consider seeking support from a mental health professional, such as a psychologist or psychiatrist, who specializes in anxiety disorders. They can provide therapy techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which can help you reframe your thoughts and reduce anxiety. Additionally, mindfulness practices and relaxation techniques can be beneficial. In Bengaluru, you can look for therapists through platforms like Practo or by visiting local hospitals that offer mental health services. Remember, youâre not alone in this, and seeking help is a strong step towards feeling better.

Hi... Please understand this, if the cause of your health anxiety is purely psycho-social (death/loss, work, relationships, etc.) the treatment needs to be addressed at that level. CBT usually works great but you will also need to regulate your routine, i.e., timely and healthy Meals, Sleep, Exercise, Breathing/ Meditation. CBT will primarily address your cognitive & behavioral issues, i.e., negative and inadequate thought and behavirol patterns. Regulating your routine will primarily help your body and mind in producing positive neurochemicals, e.g., endorphins, dopamine, serotonin, etc., thereby regulating the neurochemical imbalance which is leading to this panic and anxiety response. Remember, Mind and Body exist in unity and the treatment methods also address the overall Wellbeing. This not like a pill to fix A and another pill to fix B. The treatments are complementary and not inhibitory to eachother.
Next Steps
Consult a Psychologist.
CBT along with Interpersonal Guidance and Counselling is required.
Dealing with health anxiety, especially after experiencing the death of close family members like your mother and brother, can be incredibly overwhelming.
I am a Psychologist based in Delhi. I would suggest the following:
1. Mindfulness and Relaxation Techniques: Anxiety often makes the body tense and causes physical symptoms (like headaches, chest pain, or stomach issues), which can worsen anxiety. Mindfulness practices, like deep breathing exercises, meditation, or progressive muscle relaxation, can help calm both the mind and body.
2. Journaling and Self-Reflection: It can help to reflect on how your anxiety has developed since your family’s loss. You might notice patterns or triggers that you can address with your therapist. Writing down your thoughts and feelings might also help you process your grief and anxiety more clearly.
3. Developing Healthy Coping Strategies: Anxiety can be a coping mechanism for feeling out of control. It’s important to build healthy strategies that can help you feel more in control of your life, whether it’s through hobbies, physical activity, social support, or relaxation.
4. Addressing Somatic Symptoms: Sometimes, health anxiety manifests as physical complaints (like dizziness, headaches, or stomach aches). These symptoms can be real, but often stem from anxiety itself. A psychologist can work with you to differentiate between what might be anxiety-related and what might be a legitimate health concern.
5. Self-Compassion: Losing loved ones can leave you feeling fragile and vulnerable. Be kind to yourself as you navigate both grief and anxiety. It’s typical to feel unsettled, and acknowledging that your emotional struggles are valid is an important step in healing.
