Take anti rabies vaccine 5 doses on 0,3,7,14,28 days starting form the day of dog bite along with immunoglobulin depending on the severity of the dog bite . Take tt injection along with it.

Dog bites :
3 grades are there. Grade1 no breach of skin just touching the skin with teeth/ nails/ saliva . Grade 2 abrasion without any bleeding that is some scratches are there but no blood / bleeding. Grade 3 there is definite bleeding ( even if mild also/ even if after washing the bleeding stopped) .
For grade 1&2 only IDRV( day 0-3-7-28) ID is needed along with inj TT 0.5ml .
For grade 3 both ERIG/HRIG in and around the wound+ IDRV( day 0-3-7-28) b/l ID + inj TT 0.5ml IM.
Next Steps
Wash the wound with soap and under running water for 10-20mins then go to a nearby hospital to get vaccinated.

For a dog bite, your father must take anti rabies vaccine full course. You can take Inj.Rabipure at the nearest clinic which will given as 5 divided doses. Day 0,3,7,14,28
If the wound is open and big , immunoglobulin will also be given accordingly.

Step 1 we need to see how deep it is and site of bite ...
Step 2 based on grade we decide if patient require just TT and antirabies vaccine or also anti rabies immunoglobulin.
Step 3 : wash the area and apply oit betadine.
Step 4: take prophylactic antibiotics to prevent future wound infection .

After a dog bite, timely treatment is very important to prevent rabies and infection. The key steps include:
•Wound care: Wash the bite area immediately with plenty of running water and soap for at least 15 minutes.
•Tetanus vaccine: If not taken in the last 5 years, a booster is needed.
•Rabies vaccine: Must be started as soon as possible. It is given as a series of doses on Day 0, 3, 7, 14, and 28.
•Rabies immunoglobulin (RIG): If the bite is deep, severe, or category III, immunoglobulin is also required along with the vaccine.

Firstly clean the wound with water and soap, for vaccines he should get TT vaccine + antirabies vaccine on 0, 3, 7,14,28th day also depending on the bite/wound he might need immunoglobin injection at the site of bite once
