Difficulty in absorbing information
I have difficulty in absorbing information from reading. I have to read. sentence again and again for understanding it. Even if i understand, i will forget most of the information just after reading few sentences. Same thing happens when i watch a movie or TV series, i cannot follow the plot of the movie, because i cannot absorb what's happening in the movie. This is causing extreme difficulty in academic and my social life. And this problem is persistent and not improving. I have tried whole lot of antidepressants but none helped. How do i get my reading comprehension back?

Hi It is attention problem
Next Steps
1. Vary the activity:  Concentration is a demanding mental task. No one can sustain peak attention over a prolonged period. Anticipate this by varying your activity from time to time. Read for a period of time, then switch to taking notes or reciting aloud. By doing this, you will find that you won’t tire as easily 2. Set a time:  Set a time for the completion of your task. This will keep you focused as you attempt to complete the work before time is up. 3. Pace yourself:  Trying to do too much too fast destroys concentration. When the assignment is long or involved, it is best not to attempt to complete it at one sitting

In this age it may be related to anxiety or other psychological issues. If your IQ is normal, you will benefit from a combination of anxiolytic medicine ,and cognitive enhancer antidepressant like vortioxetine.I have 22years experience in treating patients. Hi there, A detailed medical and psychiatric history is always needed for every patient to make a diagnosis and management accordingly. It’s not clear how long the problems persist. Was there any stressful event before the onset of the symptoms? Have you been on some drugs of dependence like Alcohol etc. How is your sleep? Are you on any drugs for Diabetes, Hypertension etc. How is your mood most of the time?
Next Steps
Do start with Yoga exercises. Do meditation and light exercises.
