If a person has been consuming excessive calories for the past 1 year (2500-3000+) due to binge eating disorder.
Now in order to lose weight should they immediately follow a calorie deficit diet (between 1200-1600)?
Also since the body is used to excessive calories, trying to cut down or be in deficit even for a day leads to irritability, weakness and depressed mood.

Hi ,
at such a young age if you have been binge eating for over a year with 2500-3000kcal ,
First of you must identify your trigger points ,
But even before that I wish to talk to you in detail about any past incident which acts as a trigger for you which is the case majority of times as Binge eating is an Emotional disorder.
Also you cannot come down from 2500-3000 kcal diet to 1200-1400kcal diet just immediately as your body will feel weak and have withdrawal symptoms

People all shapes and sizes can have BED. They can have various types of malnutrition. They may be deficient in micronutrients ( vitamin and minerals) and excess of macronutrients ( sugar and fat )
Nutrients deficiency can motivate binge eating by producing cravings and a vague of not getting enough. Nutrition education and nutritional supplements can help.
