I understand your anxiety about the CT scan with contrast and the concerns you've read online. It's normal to feel apprehensive, especially with the added factor of your long-term use of Montelukast for cold allergies.Firstly, it's reassuring that your kidney function tests are normal, which is crucial as it ensures that your kidneys can handle the contrast dye safely. The contrast used in CT scans is generally well-tolerated, and serious side effects are rare. Most people experience only minor issues, if any.Montelukast, used for allergies, should not interfere with the contrast dye used in your CT scan. However, it’s always a good practice to inform the radiologist and your healthcare provider about all the medications you're taking. This helps in ensuring that everything is managed appropriately during your scan.Remember, the CT scan is a valuable tool for accurate diagnosis and guiding appropriate treatment. If you have any concerns or experience any symptoms post-scan, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.If you feel you need further reassurance or have any lingering concerns, I recommend consulting with a radiologist who can provide more detailed information about the procedure. Rest assured, I am here to support you as professional doctor to guide you through every step of your recovery.
No need to be panic!
If your kidney function test and random blood sugar are normal, then you're on the safer side.
Since your age is 25yr , risk of radiation is present. Better to consider contrast MRI if possible.
