Severe constipation for nearly 1 month with bloating after prolonged aloe vera intake may indicate significant bowel sluggishness/fecal impaction. Aloe vera latex (yellow layer beneath the leaf skin) can sometimes irritate the intestine and worsen bowel function with prolonged use.
Next Steps
-Abdominal examination and physician evaluation recommended -ultrasound abdomen is needed if severe bloating/pain persists -Check electrolytes, thyroid profile if recurrent constipation -Stop aloe vera completely -Syp Lactulose 15–30 ml at bedtime daily until stools soften -OR Polyethylene glycol (PEG) powder 1 sachet in water once daily -Glycerin suppository or saline enema may help if stool is impacted and not passing -Tab Pantoprazole 40 mg once daily before breakfast for gastritis/reflux -Seek urgent care if vomiting, severe abdominal pain, fever, blood in stool, or inability to pass gas occurs.
Health Tips
-Drink adequate water and increase fiber gradually (fruits, oats, vegetables) -Avoid excessive spicy/oily food, tea, coffee, and self-medication with herbal laxatives -Light walking can stimulate bowel movements -Constipation usually improves after stopping the offending agent, but prolonged symptoms need evaluation -Contact me anytime on Practo for further consultation.

"A one-month history of constipation combined with severe abdominal bloating is a clinical emergency known as Fecal Impaction. While aloe vera is often used for its soothing properties, the yellow sap (latex) found just under the leaf skin contains anthraquinones, which can be very irritating to the gut. Chronic use can lead to 'lazy bowel syndrome' or electrolyte imbalances that paradoxically stop the bowels from moving. Because your stomach is too sensitive for oral laxatives, we must bypass the stomach entirely to clear the lower intestinal blockage and relieve the pressure on your abdomen."
Next Steps
Immediate Rectal Enema: "Since you cannot take oral medicine, you must use a Saline Enema (e.g., Fleet or Electral). This is administered through the rectum and works by softening the hardened waste directly at the site of the blockage. This is the fastest way to relieve your bloating without irritating your stomach."
Health Tips
Hydration is Key: "Even if you cannot eat, you must take small, frequent sips of lukewarm water or coconut water. Dehydration is a major cause of hardened stool and will make the impaction much harder to clear." Stop All Home Remedies: "Do not try any more plant-based gels, oils, or home 'cleanses.' Your gut is currently in an inflamed state and needs standardized, medical-grade intervention to recover." Caution: "A month-long blockage is serious. Do not wait for 'natural improvement.' If the waste stays in the colon too long, it can lead to a 'perforation' (a tear in the intestine), which is a surgical emergency." Red Flags: Seek Emergency Room care immediately if you develop persistent vomiting, a rigid/hard abdomen, or if you are unable to pass gas (flatus) at all.
