4-5 months of constipation with burning and constricted feeling needs proper evaluation — could be IBS, fissure, or slow transit. While travelling: drink lots of water, eat high-fibre foods, take isabgol (psyllium husk) in warm water at night. Lactulose syrup is safer long-term than dulcolax. If no improvement after routine returns, get a colonoscopy done.
