Colorectal Cancer - Post surgery
My mother has been diagnosed with Colon Cancer and has undergone a CARCINOMA RECTUM -LAPROSCOPIC LOW ANTERIOR RESECTION surgery, Post the surgery the we have received the biopsy results. Wanted to check if she would require Chemo since the Biopsy results show Tumor Deposits. Biopsy Results Tumor Site : Upper Rectum Tumor Size : 3.5cm in greatest dimension Macroscopic Tumor Perforation: Not Identified Macroscopic Intactness of Mesorectum : Complete Histologic Type : Adenocarcinoma Histologic Grade: G2: Moderately Differentiated Microscopic Tumor Extension : Tumor invades through the muscularis propria into pericolorectal tissue Margins : All margins are uninvolved by invasive carcinoma, high grade dysplasia, intramucosal adenocarcinoma, and adenoma Margins Examined: Proximal, Distal and Radial Treatment Effect: No know presurgical therapy Lympho - vascular invasion : Not identifed Peri neural invasion: Not identified Tumor Deposits : Present (One in Number) Pathologic Staging(pTNM) : pT3 pN1c Lymph Nodes examined 16 Lymph nodes involved : 0

Needs adjuvant radiotherapy wuth concurrent chemo then adjuvant cbemotherapy.. Had she received prior radiotherapy...
