I am having chicken pox from last monday. Blisters are still there. Some hv dried out. But doctor has not done any test and has given me only 5 days rest. Since I work in a bank. How many days should I take leave?
usually requires 7 days or sometimes longer off work please remain on leave until all blisters have dried and crusted, and book a consultation with me if you need a reassessment or medical leave extension.

REST
AVOID SUNLIGHT.
5 days is not enough if blisters are still wet. You are contagious till all blisters become dry crusts. For chickenpox that is usually 7-10 days from when rash started, sometimes up to 14 days. Since you work in a bank with public, you need more isolation.
Next Steps
Don't join after 5 days if blisters are still active. Go back to your doctor, show the lesions.
- Ask for leave extension + fitness certificate for bank HR.
- Chickenpox usually needs 7-14 days sick leave as per infectious disease rules.
Health Tips
Don't scratch, cut nails short, use separate towel/clothes.
- Avoid contact with pregnant women, babies, elderly - high risk for them.
- If fever returns, blisters become pus-filled, or eye pain / severe cough happens, see doctor urgently.
- Continue your thyroid medicine as usual.
Chickenpox stays contagious until every blister has fully crusted over, not just most of them. Five days alone usually isn't enough if some lesions are still fresh. Most people need rest for about seven to ten days from when the rash started, sometimes a little longer.
Next Steps
Keep tracking your blisters daily and return to work only once all of them have scabbed and no new ones are appearing. Continue your thyroid medicine as usual, and keep the area clean to avoid scratching and infection.
Health Tips
See your doctor again if you get a high fever, severe headache, or the blisters look infected with pus and redness.
