Cervical Cancer is not a sexually transmitted disease. 90% of cervical cancers are caused by HPV infection. HPV infection can be sexually transmitted. Cervical cancer is curable. Cure rates are very high, provided it is detected in early stages. Cure rates decrease with advancing stages. It is difficult to treat if it spread to distant parts of the body.

Cervical cancer per se is not transmitted (for that matter, any cancer is not transmitted). However HPV infection may be a cause for cervical cancer and HPV can be transmitted sexually. Treatment of cervical cancer and its curability depends on stage
