Cervical cancer 2 nd stage
My auntie took treatment chemo and radiation for cervical cancer . Doctor told her to come for follow up after 3 months,they didn't do any mri or pet scan . Just doctor checked the cervix. My auntie asked the doctor about mri scan , she told that they will do in 2 nd follow up ( after 6 months of treatment) .what doctors will do in first follow up?

First follow up is mostly local clinical examination.
Radiological investigations like ct or mri is done every 6 months to one year on respective follow up schedule.
Rest of the time , general clinical and per vaginal and per rectal examination is done. If any doubts of recurrence or any complain at any other site is there, then accordingly tests can be adviced before the speculated time of regular checkup.

Doctors will examine any local recurrence of the disease and also check for distant spread if the disease apart from localized disease
