Ceramic- self lagating brackets
Hello, After wearing braces for the past six months, some of the side brackets are now breaking down. My concern is how much more I will have to pay for per- ceramic self-lagating bracket if four to five of them break down. Can it be reusable if break down? Please let me know so I can be prepared to go, or is there a less expensive option available?

Dear Patient. I understand your concern. But avoid going for cheap alternatives as that would affect your treatment results also. As dental braces treatment is usually a once in a life treatment. Get it properly done and talk to your Orthodontist first about the broken brackets. If the bracket is only loose it can be reused. But uf broken , a new replacement will be needed. The fee varies in each place. It depends on how difficult is your treatment. Hope this helped

If you have ceramic self-ligating brackets on your braces, they are generally more expensive than traditional metal brackets. The cost of ceramic brackets can vary depending on your location and the specific orthodontic practice you visit. If some of the brackets are breaking down, your orthodontist will need to assess the situation to determine the cause and whether they can be repaired or need replacement. In some cases, the brackets might be salvageable, but in others, they might need to be replaced with new ones. Whether or not the brackets are reusable would depend on the extent of the damage. If they are slightly damaged, they might be repaired or adjusted, but severe damage may require new brackets. As for less expensive options, traditional metal brackets are generally more affordable than ceramic self-ligating brackets. Metal brackets have been used for many years and are effective in achieving the desired orthodontic results. They might be a viable alternative if you are concerned about the cost. Ultimately, your best course of action is to contact your orthodontist's office as soon as possible to discuss the situation. They will be able to examine your braces, provide you with options, and give you a clear understanding of the potential costs involved. They can also guide you on whether any insurance coverage you have will help with the expenses. Remember, it's essential to take care of your braces and follow your orthodontist's advice to ensure the best results and minimize the risk of damage.

It’s quite common for brackets to come out. If you have your brackets, then they can be easily pasted back however if you’ve lost a few and have a few, it can be done without any additional charges..
Next Steps
Maintain good oral hygiene
Health Tips
Use orthodontic tooth brush. Avoid eating hard, sticky food until you have braces in place

As your bracket is attached to your teeth with a bonding agent it’s normal sometimes braces break off or come out if you chew something hard or sticky , visit your dentist and make it reattach as soon as possible as it delays your treatment. Nothing is extra chargeable everything is already included in your ortho treatment cost .
