It's been a month since I joined a gym for weight loss. I am a diabetic, the trainer suggested that I take protein shake for weight loss along with regular exercise and a diet. Since I'm a diabetic can I take protein shake? Is there any side effects ? More importantly will it affect my Kidney?

Do’s- use skimmed/ single tonned milk (300)ml daily
Use curd and paneer made up from the single tonned milk also
Use olive oil,rice bran, mustard, saffola, sunflower oil in cooking
