Single high BP value is not enough to start medication. Kindly check your bp daily by a professional and restrict salt in your diet. Include regular exercise and avoid alcohol.

A single BP reading is not enough for the diagnosis, however your BP levels are way too as compared to your age , stage 2 hypertension , so it's better to check you BP on a regular basis for a week and start on lifestyle modification
Next Steps
even if after a week the BP is still high you might need medication, consult me on practo for further management

A single bp reading doesn't confirm hypertension. You may have to record the BP twice daily for a few days.If it remains constantly above 130/80 consider lifestyle and diet habit changes for 2-3 months before starting the medicine

Hello, 1. This BP reading usually requires medication. 2. Since you are not a known hypertensive, we can’t label it as hypertension before we have 3 different raised BP readings. 3. Ideally, a consultation with a physician is recommended, to plan further course of action.
