Antipsychotic medicines do not work immediately.
Risperidone usually takes 2–4 weeks to show a clear reduction in hallucinations, and sometimes 6–8 weeks for full benefit.
Six days is too early to expect the voices to completely stop, especially when symptoms have been present for many years
Next Steps
1. Continue taking the medication exactly as prescribed
Do not stop or change the dose on your own.
2. Follow up with the psychiatrist after 2–3 weeks
The doctor may:
Increase the dose gradually
Change timing of the medicine

Hello,
Since you have had auditory hallucinations for 20 years, it is completely normal that the voices have not disappeared in just 6 days.
Riskon-SI (risperidone + trihexyphenidyl) needs 2- 4 weeks to start reducing hallucinations, and full improvement can take 6- 12 weeks.
Mild tiredness, slight memory problems, and irritability can also happen in the first few days as your body adjusts.
Nothing here is dangerous- you just need more time on the medicine.

20 years problem will not go away in a week. Psychiatric medications take time to take affect. They will first reduce in intensity, then gradually stop over a month.
