The pain could be due to over muscle stretching, like more pushups as u mentioned. Or it could even be due to stomach or spleen related issues. Please connect as more details are needed

Discomfort in the left upper abdomen near the ribs can come from several causes, ranging from simple muscular strain (especially if you do push-ups) to stomach or even spleen-related issues. Since it is occasional and more around activity and posture, muscle involvement is quite possible, but we cannot be certain without an examination.
Next Steps
If the discomfort continues, it’s best to get it evaluated once. You can start with a general physician, and if needed, they may guide you to a gastroenterologist or orthopedician depending on the findings. Avoid heavy push-ups or strenuous exercises till it settles. If you’d like, you can consult me here on Practo and I can go over your history in detail and suggest the right next step.
Health Tips
Watch out for warning signs like persistent severe pain, vomiting, blood in stools, or breathing difficulty - in such cases seek immediate medical attention. Otherwise, gentle stretching, proper posture, and light meals can help till you get reviewed.

I'm really sorry to hear you're going through this — dealing with unusual or persistent discomfort, especially when it starts affecting your daily activities like workouts, can definitely be concerning. From what you're describing — occasional discomfort (not exactly pain) in the left upper abdomen near the ribs, mostly in the morning and night, and interference with push-ups — some possibilities are 1. Musculoskeletal Issues Muscle strain from exercise, especially push-ups. Often worse with movement, deep breathing, or pressing on the area. 2. Gastrointestinal Issues Gas or bloating from diet can cause localized discomfort. Acid reflux (GERD) can cause upper abdominal pain, often worse in the morning or night (especially if lying down after eating).
Next Steps
Yes — it's a good idea to consult a doctor, even if just to rule out anything serious. Start with a General Physician (GP) or Internal Medicine doctor — they can: 1. Examine you physically, 2. Rule out serious causes (like spleen or GI issues), 3. Refer you to a specialist if needed. If it's diagnosed as musculoskeletal: They might refer you to an orthopedic doctor or physiotherapist. If it's digestive: You may be referred to a gastroenterologist.
Health Tips
In the Meantime (Before You See a Doctor) 1. Avoid push-ups or exercises that worsen it. 2. Try gentle stretching. 3. Use a warm compress on the area if it's sore. 4. Track any food triggers, sleep positions, or activities that make it worse. 5. Try to maintain an upright posture while sitting/studying.

You can't describe what exactly you are feeling. As such it is difficult to guess what you are feeling. Please consult a General Physician in your area for a physical examination so that he knows what you are feeling.

If you have no other complains aside from vague pain over upper left abdomen and occasionally Seems likely to be stretched muscle or spasm over the abdominal wall muscles. Gentle hot fomentation over the area and rest for 3-5 days should relieve the pain. You can consult a general physician first if the pain is not relieved
