Hello
I’ve carefully read your concern, and I can truly understand how exhausting this loop of thoughts must feel. What you’re describing — repeated doubts, checking behavior, and constant fear despite knowing logically that you’re safe — is a classic presentation of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), specifically a health-related (contamination/rabies) obsession.
You’re not alone in this — many intelligent and self-aware people face this same struggle. The problem isn’t “in your thinking,” it’s due to overactivity in a part of your brain that triggers false alarms. That’s why reassurance only gives temporary relief, and soon the doubt returns.
Here’s what I suggest:
Consult a Psychiatrist — they specialize in anxiety and OCD-related conditions. With the right SSRI medication and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), particularly Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP), the brain circuits calm down and the obsessive loop breaks.
Continue therapy, but ensure your therapist is trained in ERP (the gold-standard treatment for OCD).
Avoid repeatedly checking or seeking reassurance — it strengthens the OCD loop.
Meditation, exercise, and adequate sleep help your nervous system stay balanced while recovery progresses.
This condition is completely treatable, and you can absolutely get back to your calm, confident self with guided therapy and medication.
If you’d like me to personally assess your case and design a tailored step-by-step recovery plan for you (including ERP guidance and medication optimization), you can message me directly on WhatsApp —nine three two six zero two zero five three six — for a confidential consultation.
You’ve already taken the bravest step by reaching out. Let’s work together to help you regain full control over your thoughts and peace of mind.
